Lanteague
Originally built in 1965, Lanteague once served as a large and lively milking parlour on the north coast of Cornwall.
Unfortunately, as the industry declined, so did the building. However, Trewithen estate had a vision of how to upcycle this old property. As a result, Lanteague has now been transformed into a thriving community of local traders and businesses, which brings a welcoming social and economic uplift to a remote part of Cornwall.
The building’s main frame and structure were retained to reduce the project’s carbon impact and prevent unnecessary landfill. Old timbers from an extension were repurposed to form mezzanines and storage areas.
We believe that the social impact and personal interaction with a building should always be a primary consideration when approaching a build. Lanteague is a simple but well-thought-out structure, which has its true value built within the people and businesses that occupy it.
From former farm buildings to historically significant structures, every project we take on tells a story of its own.
We're passionate about giving life to unique and historic buildings, with a focus on sustainability and sensitivity.
